This 60-minute lecture will explore cultural appropriations and reflections within a history of Astrology from pre-500 BCE to the present. Instead of focusing on the heavens as the subject of astrology, this lecture proposes that the “great beyond” of astrology’s subject is actually the cultural alien here on earth. By viewing astrology as a cultural science, or cult science, this workshop will ask: “What are the socio-political effects of astrology?” “What is the link between culture and biology?” And, “Is postmodern science a cult science?”
