Broodthaers Society of America
La Bête Noire
Broodthaers’ third poetry book, originally published in 1961, uses the animals that inhabit fables, the Zodiac, and the Chinese calendar as meditations on character, identity, and myth. We have the original, self-published by Broodthaers with etchings by Jan Sanders, as well as this facsimile published by Edition de Cygne in 2004. Illustrated, 24 pages. French.

Also here is a partial translation of the book done in conjunction with Alice Sparkly Kat's public reading of Broodthaers' astrological birth chart at Hauser & Wirth in 2017.
